Just isn't loud enough to overcome the distance to the ear and wind noise above 60mph in a fullface.I bought an in ear phone with mic and it works much better.

The first one that I got installed easily and worked fine. I was able to make voice calls while riding. I had to boost the volume of my music files in order to hear my tunes. That one failed about eight months later. IMC honored the warranty and replaced it with a new unit that didn't cancel noise as well as the first one. I had to stop and turn the motor off in order to make a voice call. Also, the wires between the speakers and mic seemed to be a little shorter which determined which side the mic and the wire that came out of the helmet were to be on. I also had to unwind the the wire around the speaker magnets in order place the speakers inline with my ears. I'm having trouble with this headset after about six months. I wanted a cheaper alternative to the more pricey headsets and got the trouble I didn't pay for. I recommend that one should pay more to get more dependability.

I received the iMC Moto HS530 kit today (ordered direct from the manufacturer), along with a full face mic. I set about to testing the speakers and mic with my iPhone. I was surprised at the clarity of the speakers, the music came through with crystal clear sound. Bass is lacking, but that's to be expected for a flat speaker of this type. I tested the mic with a phone call. It does reduce voice quality slightly, but it's fine for voice communication on a motorcycle. I have read the four other reviews with complaints about not being able to hear. These speakers are VERY directional, in that you need to have them in the right position to get the best volume (Even the paper insert in the box says, "NOTE: Speaker fidelity will be best if speaker is directly in line with ear and placed as close as possible without contact." I will update my review once I have my helmet outfitted and have a chance to test it. My motorcycle has loud pipes, so it will be interesting to see how well these speakers do. The quality/workmanship of the kit seems sound. The wiring and connectors are beefy and solid. The firewire connector seals tight. The only thing I noticed was the additional full face mic connector appeared to be charred like you would see on an AC outlet after you barely stuck a plug in it, but it functions fine. Not sure what caused the discoloration, could've been anything; it doesn't affect the functionality of the mic at all. If I can get the speakers positioned properly it should be a fine headset. Worst case scenario, I can glue in some foam to push the speakers out a bit, closer to my ears. We'll see how it works out. This is a German made product which is distributed in the USA. My package came from Newport Beach, CA after ordering on the manufacturer's website.
