By Pat K. Macgrandle
The helmet is large outside because there is alot inside and the size chart runs one size small. If you are interested in this helmet, try it on first like you would try on a piece of clothing. The weight is in the middle of its range. Easy to use with gloves. Vents are OK but a little weak for Texas. Comfort is good with its pop out washable liner and it pump up cheek air unit. Metal locking hooks. The sun unit comes down with just enough space to tilt your head up to see the dash untinted. What you can't try out is the noise while riding...this can be addressed using a thin closed cell foam in the ear well(that has no lining). The price runs way below ave. for any modular with all the extras. Downside, I own 2 of these units and both have a broken rear exhaust vent slide, without a drop. These thin plastic units just pop in and I hope not a major thing to replace. Highway or street this is the best flip-up/modular for the price.

I'm a new rider so my experience is limited, BUT I am pretty particular. I ride a cruiser and a street bike. I have two other helmets before buying this scorpion, both are 1/2 helmets. I really wanted the feel of an open face helmet and because I wear prescription glasses. I thought that a full-face helmet would be stuffy and cumbersome with glasses. I looked into modular helmets as a way to get the safety, reduce wind for highway riding and still get the option of riding with open-face if I wanted to.A co-worker recommended this modular so I started my research. Biggest attraction to this helmet is because it is DOT & ECE approved. I think there's only one other modular helmet on the market that has more than just DOT approval. 2nd reason I chose this helmet is because is can convert into a 3/4 quickly and easily. I can attest that IT IS easy to convert it back and forth. The pop-down sun-visor is a nice feature. I have prescription sunglasses too but now I don't have to stop to switch out glasses. Color options are exceptional. I ordered the matte black. Removable and washable pads area a plus because I hate nothing more than a stinky helmet!Down to the actual review of my experience. Using the five star rating:1. COMFORT = 4 stars... I fits really well all around. There's only one area of the helmet that poses a slight discomfort. It's around the tops of my ears. It could be from wearing eyeglasses. It's not bad to the point where I have to stop and remove the helmet. I just make my adjustments prior to riding. When I need to turn and look back for lane changes, it's a little restricted due to it's over-sized outer shell. Be cautious when changing lanes in this helmet. Take 2nd or 3rd look before proceeding.2. SIZING & FITMENT = 4 stars... All my other helmets are size smalls. None of my local shops carried this helmet to try on. One dealer recommended the Arai and Shoei. I tried on the Arai and the small would not go past the top of my head. We determined that I am a size medium in full-face helmet. This scorpion fits VERY similar to the Arai. It's a big outer shell! Fits like a glove on the inside.3. FEATURES = 5 stars... the anti-fog worked like a charm. I rode on the highway (65-75mph), in 35 degree weather. The anti-fog worked without a hitch. Off the highway at a stop light, it would fog up and takes about 4-5 seconds to start defogging. I would lift the visor to speed up the anti-fog. The modular flip-up was effortless with riding gloves on. The 3 vents were easy and functions perfectly, even with gloves on.4. WIND & NOISE = 3.5 stars... with any modular helmet, noise will always be present. I cannot compare this because this is my first full-face/modular helmet. I my opinion, it did a great job of reducing the noise. There was a little bit of wind the enters right underneath the chin but not extreme... even with the extra chin snaps on.CONCLUSION:The average rating averages out to 4.25 stars. That rating jives with my overall thought of this helmet. I love it. The price point is very exceptional for all that you get with the added protection. My recommendation is to try on an Arai full-face at your local shop and use that as your sizing. Fits very similar. As for my eyeglass issues, it works for me. I would recommend this helmet to my friends.

By CwBoy1963
This is a nice helmet and has different configurations which are easy to work. Has built in sun visor that flips down easily. Air vents seem adequate, but I have not used it in the heat of summer yet. I have not ridden with the full face mask removed yet either but it is easy to put on and take off. It has a flap that keeps wind from coming in under the helmet which is nice in the winter, and has snaps available for neck protection. The air pump works nicely and is easy to adjust. Face shield is clear and not warpy looking through even from my prescription glasses through the sunglass and then the face shield glass. The helmet itself is kinda large looking compared to other normal helmets, but you get used to it. It is not overly heavy and does not mess with your neck while riding. It does cut down on wind and other noise which is a plus. A very nice helmet worthy of 4 stars.
